Tilting Station for Precast Wall Panel Demoulding

A tilting station raises a production pallet toward an upright position as part of a precast wall panel demoulding and handling process. The reference machine offered through REALJET uses synchronized hydraulic cylinders, automatic pallet locking and one-touch automatic tilting. Catalogue figures specify a 30 t tilting load and an angle of 80° ±5°.

Hydraulic pallet tilting station for precast wall panel demoulding
Reference tilting station with a catalogue tilting angle of 80° ±5°.
Application

Move from horizontal casting to wall panel handling

Wall panels are cast on horizontal pallets, while the agreed demoulding procedure may require the pallet to tilt before the element is lifted away. The tilting station provides this change of orientation. Its relationship with the pallet, wall panel and lifting equipment needs to be reviewed as one handling operation.

The station is specified around the actual panel and pallet arrangement. Panel dimensions, openings, lifting provisions and the concrete release condition affect the handling review. The catalogue load and angle help identify the reference equipment; they do not replace the project's approved lifting and demoulding procedure.

Equipment features

Hydraulic movement and pallet restraint

  • One-touch automatic tilting: the reference controls provide a defined tilting operation from the operator interface.
  • Automatic pallet locking: the pallet restraint is part of the reference station arrangement.
  • Synchronized hydraulic-cylinder control: cylinder movements are coordinated during the tilting operation.
  • Remote and control-panel operation: operators have the specified control interfaces available for the station.

The required restraints and handover conditions must be compatible with the production pallet. The equipment scope should describe the station controls and its interface with adjoining pallet transfer and lifting operations.

Working sequence

A station sequence to review with your handling plan

  1. Position the production pallet at the tilting station.
  2. Engage the pallet-locking arrangement and check the agreed operating conditions.
  3. Tilt the pallet using the synchronized hydraulic system.
  4. Hand over the wall panel to the lifting process defined for the product.
  5. Return the pallet to the required position for the next production operation.

This describes the station's role in production. Detailed lifting, release and operator procedures are established for the actual element and equipment package.

Equipment selection

Check the complete load and lifting interface

Send the pallet drawing, wall panel drawings and the maximum handling condition. Confirm what is included in the specified tilting load, including the pallet and associated tooling where applicable. The installation review also needs station height, foundation conditions, travel clearances and lifting-equipment access.

For an existing factory, include the current demoulding sequence and photographs of the pallet restraint. A compatible footprint alone is insufficient: the pallet-locking interface and handling arrangement must also match. REALJET can use these inputs to review the proposed station within the complete wall panel line.

Equipment questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the tilting station lift the finished panel off the pallet?

Its role is to tilt the production pallet. Removing and transporting the panel requires the lifting arrangement defined for the product and factory.

Does this station rotate the pallet through 180°?

The reference tilting angle is 80° ±5°. It should not be specified as a 180° turnover device.

Is 30 t the allowable concrete panel weight?

The catalogue states a tilting load. The load boundary must be confirmed for the complete handling condition before interpreting it as a limit for the panel alone.

Can the station be used for every wall panel geometry?

Compatibility depends on panel and pallet dimensions, load distribution, restraint and lifting provisions. Product drawings are needed for a technical review.
