Power Shelf Chassis to your design
Source the metal shell and dividers that locate removable power modules in your equipment. REALJET manufactures the chassis to your module arrangement, mounting interfaces and approved joining details.
Choose the part and delivery condition
| Your order | Information that sets the scope |
|---|---|
| Chassis shell | Outer envelope, rack fixing points and panel interfaces |
| Shell with dividers | Slot layout, cumulative pitch and divider connections |
| Chassis with listed hardware | Captive hardware, fasteners and required assembly state |
Power modules, busbars, control boards and electrical testing are outside the chassis fabrication scope unless explicitly listed. An AI rack shelf and an EV charging shelf require their own equipment drawings.
Fit it to the equipment around it
A module should seat against the intended stop without the metal chassis controlling the connector position incorrectly. Show slot widths, cumulative pitch, rear stops and connector clearance on the assembly view. Mark any grounding contact areas separately from cosmetic surfaces.
| Intended installation | Equipment interface to supply |
|---|---|
| AI equipment | AI rack power shelf |
| Power conversion / EV charging equipment | Modular power conversion or charging cabinet |
Plan the manufacturing around these features
The steps below are proposed for the drawing review. Your material, geometry and acceptance requirements determine the final route, tooling and inspection provision.
Locate shell and dividers from one datum
Review flat patterns and divider locating features together, including hardware access near module bays. Identify rear stops before the shell is joined.
Build the module bays
Review divider connection order and a locating arrangement that references the complete bay pattern. Confirm captive-hardware installation and purchased hardware in the quote.
Preserve mating and contact areas
Specify finish masking for module seats and electrical contact provisions where required. Recheck bay geometry after joining and finishing.
Manufacturing capability for your component
| Your component feature | Existing process and its use | Confirm for your order |
|---|---|---|
| Shell and bay dividers | CNC bending and plate preparation. Form the shell and dividers while keeping their complete bay layout tied to a common datum. | Narrow divider access and cumulative bay position. |
| Joined shelf and hardware | Welded fabrication and component assembly. Review divider connection methods and purchased hardware as an assembly task. | Captive-hardware installation and any electrical contact requirements. |
| Module entry surfaces | Deburring, phosphating/powder coating/painting routes. Select the required finish without consuming entry clearance or covering specified contacts. | Coating allowance and module-dummy/inspection fixtures. |

The bending workshop supports a review of shell and divider forming. The power shelf requires a specific multi-bay locating and checking arrangement beyond a general enclosure route.
Define what the first article must demonstrate
| Feature | Proposed check | Record to agree |
|---|---|---|
| Bay width and cumulative pitch | Measure each bay and divider location from the common reference, including end bays. Select a measuring setup for the full shelf width. | Individual widths and datum-based divider positions. |
| Module travel and rear stop | Trial-fit each specified module or dummy through its insertion path; check seating at the stop with the connector zone kept clear. | Per-bay insertion/stop checklist and dummy revision. |
| Hardware and contact provisions | Check hardware identity/location and masked-area geometry; electrical resistance or safety testing is separately scoped. | Hardware/finish checklist; separate electrical tests if ordered. |
Identify the drawing revision, measurement datums and pass/fail limits before the sample is made. The quote confirms the available measuring setup, any mating fixture and whether a specialist test needs an external provider.
Packing for your next assembly step
Protect divider edges and module entry points. State whether shelves should arrive fully joined or as parts for local assembly so packing volume can be assessed. State the quantity and delivery city so packing volume and the requested delivery terms can be included.
Questions before you send drawings
How is the full power-module bay pattern checked?
The plan should measure divider positions from one datum and trial-fit each bay after joining and finish. Hardware installation and any electrical contact tests need their own agreed route; dimensional fit alone does not validate the power shelf.
Can the same chassis serve an AI rack and a charging cabinet?
The fabrication approach may be similar, but module envelopes, mounting and electrical clearances differ. Each application needs its own approved chassis drawing.
What should I send for the drawing review?
Send the dimensioned PDF, available STEP/DXF/DWG files and assembly view. Include material, finish, quantity, delivery city and drawing revision. Mark the features in the inspection plan that control acceptance.
Can we approve a sample before ordering repeat quantities?
Request a sample or pilot batch with the agreed dimensional report and any mating checks. Scope, timing and test provision are quoted after review; repeat supply follows the accepted drawing revision and any agreed sample changes.
Discuss your modular power shelf chassis
