Production scenarios and design basis
Tunnel lining segment moulds are configured for the approved ring geometry, segment types, key segment, gasket grooves, bolt or dowel provisions, reinforcement cage, embedded items and curing process. They are used in controlled production facilities supplying metro, railway, road, water or utility tunnel projects.
Is this mould relevant to your project?
This mould type may be relevant when:
- Ring geometry, segment types and joint details are approved or ready for review
- Gasket grooves, bolts, dowels or embedded items require controlled interfaces
- Repeat closure, casting, vibration and curing follow a defined factory sequence
- Inspection references and identification must align with the project quality plan
Configuration directions
| Configuration direction | When it may be considered | Main review focus |
|---|---|---|
| Conventional opening mould | The production method supports direct side and end-form operation | Joint faces, locking, reference points and cleaning access |
| Mechanically or hydraulically operated mould | Repeated opening and closing require assisted movement | Stroke, synchronization, controls, safety and maintenance |
| Station-integrated mould arrangement | Casting, vibration or curing equipment follows a defined line layout | Utilities, interfaces, takt sequence and handling route |
Product performance and engineering features
- Machined or fabricated contact surfaces configured to the approved segment geometry
- End and side arrangements for specified joint faces, grooves and connection provisions
- Reference and locking features for repeat closure and setup
- Compatibility with the agreed reinforcement, casting, vibration and curing workflow
- Inspection access and identification provisions aligned with the project quality plan
Final component tolerances and acceptance criteria remain subject to the approved project documents, production controls and applicable standards.
Required project inputs
Ring and segment drawings, segment schedule, joint and gasket details, connection provisions, reinforcement cage data, tolerance basis, curing method, target cycle and inspection requirements.
About Realjet
Realjet develops project-specific equipment for precast concrete production and infrastructure construction. Our scope can connect process planning, mechanical design, steel fabrication, hydraulic or mechanical integration, workshop assembly, installation support and commissioning around the customer's production objective. Final dimensions, functions, interfaces and delivery boundaries are confirmed through technical review before manufacturing.
