Production scenarios and design basis

U-girder moulds are used where the component geometry requires coordinated inner, outer, bottom and end-form movement. The concept is reviewed against the approved section, variable geometry, reinforcement and embedded items, concrete placement, demoulding clearance and component-handling plan.

Is this mould relevant to your project?

This mould type may be relevant when:

  • Approved U-girder geometry requires coordinated inner- and outer-form movement
  • Variable sections, reinforcement or embedded items restrict operating space
  • The demoulding sequence must fit a defined movement envelope
  • Standalone mould operation or station-based production needs technical comparison

Configuration directions

Configuration direction When it may be considered Main review focus
Conventional segmented mould Crane access and the available movement envelope allow direct handling Panel division, locking, support and withdrawal sequence
Hydraulic opening system Coordinated movement of inner or side forms requires powered assistance Stroke, synchronization, controls, safety and maintenance
Rail-guided or station-based system The mould must move between defined production operations Rails, foundations, utilities, transfer logic and interfaces

Product performance and engineering features

  • Inner and outer forms configured to the approved U-section
  • Opening and withdrawal sequence reviewed against available demoulding space
  • End forms and inserts developed for the agreed girder family
  • Mechanical, hydraulic, rail-guided or station-based movement reviewed as project options
  • Access provisions for preparation, placement, vibration, inspection and cleaning

Final component tolerances and acceptance criteria remain subject to the approved project documents, production controls and applicable standards.

Required project inputs

Approved U-girder drawings, section and length schedule, reinforcement and embedded-item details, prestressing information where applicable, target cycle, movement envelope, factory layout and lifting or transfer plan.

About Realjet

Realjet can review a standalone U-girder mould or a coordinated production arrangement. Production-line, hydraulic, transfer, installation and commissioning interfaces are included only where agreed in the project scope.
