Formwork developed from the U-beam geometry
Custom hydraulic U-beam formwork is designed around the approved concrete profile, dimensional tolerances and casting sequence of a bridge project. The mould typically combines a rigid fabricated frame, accurately formed steel contact surfaces and hydraulic functions selected for the required opening, closing, positioning or release operations.
Realjet begins with the component drawing and production method rather than a standard mould size. Cross-section changes, end geometry, diaphragms, embedded items, prestressing interfaces and reinforcement access all influence how the formwork should be divided and operated.
Main characteristics
- Project-specific mould geometry: Contact plates, corners and transition areas are developed from the approved U-beam dimensions.
- Hydraulic assistance: Cylinders can support selected side-form movement, alignment or demoulding actions according to the final mechanism.
- Rigid steel support structure: Frames and stiffeners are designed for concrete pressure, working loads and repeated production cycles.
- Adjustment and reference points: Mechanical stops, locking points and survey references can support repeatable mould setup.
- Production access: Platforms, reinforcement access, concrete placement space and maintenance routes are considered during layout review.
- Line compatibility: The mould can be coordinated with concrete distribution, vibration, curing, cranes and component handling equipment.
Applications in bridge component production
This type of formwork is suited to precast U-beams and U-girders used in elevated roads, viaducts, urban rail infrastructure and other bridge works. It can be arranged as a fixed casting installation or combined with a station-based system where moulds and components move through preparation, casting and curing positions.
For a reliable proposal, the buyer should provide component drawings, concrete pressure assumptions, target cycle time, curing method, lifting plan and available factory layout. Realjet uses these inputs to define the mould split, hydraulic scope, operating sequence and interfaces with other equipment.
