Geometry control begins with the mould concept

A high-precision U-beam mould must translate the approved component drawing into stable contact surfaces, reliable reference points and a repeatable setup procedure. Dimensional control is not achieved by steel fabrication alone; it also depends on foundations, locking conditions, concrete pressure, release sequence and how the mould is inspected between casting cycles.

Realjet develops the formwork from the beam cross-section, length, end details and tolerance requirements. The mould split is selected to support reinforcement installation, embedded components, concrete placement and safe removal of the finished element.

Design features

  • accurately formed steel contact plates for the required U-beam profile;

  • survey references and mechanical stops for production setup;
  • adjustable points for controlled alignment within the approved range;

The mould is reviewed as a structural and operational system. Welding sequence, assembly method and workshop checks are planned to manage distortion before delivery. At site, foundation level, rail alignment and locking positions must be verified before trial production.

Suitable precast applications

This mould type is intended for U-beams and U-girders used in highway bridges, urban viaducts and elevated infrastructure. It is relevant where repeated components must fit project-defined geometry and where multiple mould sets need a common setup and inspection method.

Buyer inputs should include approved drawings, dimensional tolerances, prestressing details, embedded items, surface requirements, target cycle and lifting method. These define the manufacturing and acceptance criteria for the formwork.
