Connecting mould operation with material flow
A rail-guided hydraulic U-beam mould is intended for production concepts where formwork movement must be coordinated with fixed workstations or curing positions. Rails define the travelling route, while hydraulic functions assist selected mould actions such as side-form movement, alignment, locking or release.
The system is not selected by mould length alone. Component geometry, total moving mass, station spacing, floor conditions, required cycle time and crane strategy all affect the travelling and hydraulic design. Realjet therefore develops the mould carrier, rails, cylinders, support frames and control boundary as connected interfaces.

- Guided travelling route: Rails and wheel assemblies establish a repeatable movement path between defined positions.
- Hydraulic mould functions: Cylinder stroke, force and mounting geometry are selected for the approved operating sequence.
- Positioning and locking: Mechanical locating points can secure the mould before reinforcement, casting or demoulding operations.
- Structural coordination: Moving frames and mould supports are checked for operating and transport load cases.
- Service routing: Hydraulic hoses, power supply and control cables are arranged to suit travel and maintenance requirements.
- Station integration: Interfaces can be planned for preparation, reinforcement, concrete placement, curing and release areas.
Where the system is used
Rail-guided moulds are applicable to precast U-beams, bridge girders and other elongated infrastructure elements produced through a station-based workflow. They can support new factory planning or the reorganisation of an existing precast yard where fixed equipment needs to serve multiple moulds.
Before a layout is approved, the project team should verify travel clearances, rail foundations, drainage, crane conflicts, emergency access and the method used to move or stop the mould. The operating sequence must also define when hydraulic actions are permitted and when mechanical locking is required.
