Compressed air for tools and pneumatic devices

A screw air compressor serves pneumatic tools and devices around a spun pile production line. Selection starts with the pressure and airflow needed at the points of use, including the mould-opening and closing stations.

Compressor sizing should account for simultaneous tool use and pressure losses along the distribution route. Air storage and treatment requirements depend on the connected devices and site conditions, and should be confirmed with the supply scope.

Configuration and integration

  • Required pressure at points of use
  • Combined airflow and duty cycle
  • Receiver and air-treatment requirements
  • Distribution layout and service access

Selection questions

How should pneumatic wrench use affect compressor selection?

Record the air consumption, duty cycle and number of tools expected to run together. Review pressure losses between the compressor and workstations, since pressure at the compressor outlet is not necessarily the pressure available at a tool.

Are a receiver and air treatment included?

Their inclusion must be confirmed in the supply scope. Storage, filtration and drying requirements depend on the connected equipment, site conditions and distribution arrangement.

Supply and project coordination

Realjet can include the screw air compressor in a coordinated spun pile equipment package or review it for an existing production line. Equipment dimensions, capacity, controls and supply boundaries are confirmed against the project requirements before an equipment proposal is finalized.
