Explore the production lineSteel skirts for pile-end assemblies
A skirt forming machine shapes steel strip into the skirt used in a spun pile end assembly. The forming geometry is selected to match the pile diameter and the approved end-plate connection.
The skirt forms part of the pile-end assembly and must fit the specified end plate and pile geometry. Strip preparation, forming and subsequent joining operations need to be defined as separate parts of the manufacturing scope.
Configuration and integration
- Steel strip width, thickness and grade
- Finished skirt diameter and profile
- Forming tooling and size changeover
- Interfaces with end-plate assembly
Information for equipment selection
Pile-end drawings, strip specifications, skirt dimensions, size range and production quantity.
Selection questions
Is skirt forming the same as end-plate manufacturing?
No. This page covers forming the steel skirt. End-plate manufacture, hole preparation and subsequent joining or assembly are separate operations whose inclusion must be stated in the equipment package.
Can one machine produce different skirt sizes?
A size range can be reviewed from the required diameters, strip widths, thicknesses and profiles. Tooling and changeover requirements must be checked against that range rather than assuming that all pile sizes use the same setup.
Supply and project coordination
Realjet can include the skirt forming machine in a coordinated spun pile equipment package or review it for an existing production line. Equipment dimensions, capacity, controls and supply boundaries are confirmed against the project requirements before an equipment proposal is finalized.
For project preparation, review our equipment package scope guide. To discuss this equipment, use the product enquiry button and include your drawings and selection inputs listed above.
