Explore the production lineSpiral reinforcement wire preparation
A wire drawing machine prepares steel wire for the spiral reinforcement used in spun pile cages. The incoming wire specification and the finished wire required by the reinforcement design determine the drawing arrangement.
The drawing route depends on the incoming wire and the finished wire required by the cage design. Pay-off, drawing and take-up arrangements should match the workshop flow and the downstream cage welding process.
Configuration and integration
- Incoming and finished wire diameters
- Wire material and required finished condition
- Drawing stages and tooling selection
- Pay-off, take-up and coil handling
Information for equipment selection
Wire specifications, diameter reduction, coil sizes, downstream demand and available workshop space.
Selection questions
Does every spun pile plant need a wire drawing machine?
No. A plant that buys wire in the required finished diameter and condition may not need on-site drawing. Compare purchased-wire availability with production demand, material controls and the space required for in-house preparation.
How should drawing output match cage production?
Use the spiral-wire demand for the planned cage sizes and pitch schedule, together with coil-change time and operating shifts. The finished coil format must also suit the pay-off arrangement of the cage welding machine.
Supply and project coordination
Realjet can include the wire drawing machine in a coordinated spun pile equipment package or review it for an existing production line. Equipment dimensions, capacity, controls and supply boundaries are confirmed against the project requirements before an equipment proposal is finalized.
For project preparation, review our equipment package scope guide. To discuss this equipment, use the product enquiry button and include your drawings and selection inputs listed above.
